Application for Midwifery Intensives and Advanced Internships
Apply now to hands-on midwifery experience abroad through Midwife International’s Internship Program (advanced students only) and Midwifery Intensives (all levels). Midwife International offers 10-week intensives for students of all levels and and 11-week internships for students who are in the advanced stages of midwifery training. Applicants are accepted on a rolling basis. We look forward to receiving your application and finding the perfect placement for you.
Application Instructions
1. Complete the application form below. All fields are required; please fill them out completely and accurately. We recommend that you type your essays into a separate document before submitting them below.
2. Email your resume to mackenzie@
3. Download the Participant Recommendation Form, and distribute it to two people who can speak to your qualifications to be a participant in the 1-year immersion program. Please ensure that this form is completed and submitted directly to Midwife International by all three of your references as soon as possible. Become a midwife apply now
4. Pay the $50 application fee by clicking the “Pay Now” button on the sidebar directly to the right. You can pay with PayPal or with a credit or debit card. Do this before filling in the fields below, as you will lose your work when you navigate away from this page.
5. Send verification of documented births, as well as forms required by additional midwifery programs in which you are enrolled, to sierra@midwifeinternational.org. Please note that if you need forms completed by Midwife International in order for your accredited midwifery program to approve your participation, you will need to pay an additional $40 fee via PayPal or check.
Midwife International works hard to place you at the best site to suit your educational needs, and where your skills with be of service to the clinic. We therefore reserve the right to shift your placement according to the situation on the ground in our host clinics. For this reason, we do not recommend that you purchase your plane ticket until 30 days before your departure!
